Looking for a PvE Curses necromancer build
First off you should know that I have been using an SS build for some time now with my necromancer and I'm getting a little bored of the standard SS build and I recently started Nightfall and I'm looking for a curses build that would be good to play through the Nightfall campaign with, please note, I don't mind having SS in the build.

There are only two necromancer hex spells worth running in a PvE environment and that is SS and SV. Since you say you've already run SS, try SV. It's blood but it's stronger, focused damage and puts a bigger hammer on the head of the pigs that truly deserve it.
Arcane Echo - Spoil Victor - Life Siphon - <5 Optional>

Echoing SV is kind of a waste the recharge is just fine atm.
Anyway, for PvE if you are using h/h I use a SS build with SS, RH, PoF, MoP, SoLS, Necrosis (when you get the damage high enough) and other fillers like a rez, BR, etc. MoP is nice especially when you know the warrior h/h is hitting the target you cast it on. Even adding in a few wells is nice well of darkness is good and helps if you aggro more than one or two groups.

Spiteful Spirit is still one of the best ways to go if you want curses.
I don't know if you've tried this version but I think it's more fun than the standard FOW version.
[skill]spiteful spirit[/skill][skill]arcane echo[/skill][skill]desecrate enchantments[/skill][skill]defile enchantments[/skill][skill]reckless haste[/skill][skill]signet of lost souls[/skill]
for the seventh slot [skill]blood ritual[/skill] if in groups with other players...(always nice to keep monks happy when PUGing)
[skill]auspicious incantation[/skill] when Hero/Henching and a rez in last spot
I only do [skill]spoil victor[/skill] occasionally (Gate of Madness it rocks on and it's very useful for any solo quest)

I run this for pve
[skill]Feast of Corruption[/skill][skill]Suffering[/skill][skill]Parasitic Bond[/skill][skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill][skill]Signet of Corruption[/skill][skill]Necrosis[/skill][skill]Arcane Echo[/skill] rez
I just cast suffering to activate FoC, then Arcane Echo Necrosis and just Necrosis everything else. I use Signet of Corruption and lost souls for energy management but you still have soul reaping anyway.

Since you are building this for Nightfall, I'll include some Sunspear skills you can use. This is the main build I currently use for PvE:
N/Me Punisher
Curses: 12 + 3 + 1
Domination Magic: 11
Soul Reaping: 6 + 1
Insidious Parasite
Backfire
Empathy
Spiteful Spirit
Necrosis
Enfeeble
Signet of Lost Souls
Sunspear Rebirth Signet
Usage: This build is designed for causing major damage to enemy mobs whenever they attack or cast spells. Use Insidious Parasite and Empathy on melee fighters and archers. Use Backfire on spellcasters. SS can work on either. Unless you have only a few creatures attacking you, try to spread out the hexes. For example, if you have 2 warriors coming your way, hit one with IP and the other with Empathy.
All of those hexes deal conditional-based damage, which most of the time isn't a problem because you'll rarely encounter any enemies who will just run around or stand there after you hex them. For direct damage though, you can spam Necrois.
Enfeeble is more of a wild-card. You can use it as a quickie to meet the requirement for dealing damage using Necrosis. It's also an easy-to-spam condition if your party has skills that key off of your enemies suffering from a condition. You can also use it to soften the blows of any melee enemies who make it past your front line.
Signet of Lost Souls is used for energy management and light healing. Your other source of self-healing comes from Insidious Parasite.
This build is great against mobs but also works wonders against single bosses.
Some other skills you can use in place of enfeeble are Reckless Haste and Price of Failure. They don't stack up as well with IP, but they go great with Empathy and SS.
Just be wary of being interrupted as some of these spells have a 2 or 3 second casting time.

Before Gwen I was running a basic SS build. Now I have been running the below skill set. But I have to ask a question what is the rest of your team running? I run solo with henchmen and heroes as of late a heavy nuke team of heroes with Searing flames x2 identical builds both and Mesmer secondary’s with Power drain the 3rd hero is a Mesmer running either full damage domination or shut down.
Then I go with a necro/elementalist build lead off the attack with [skill]deep freeze[/skill] not for damage just to snare [skill]Feast of Corruption[/skill] [skill]Desecrate Enchantments[/skill] [skill]signet of lost souls[/skill] [skill]Glyph of lesser energy[/skill] [skill]suffering[/skill] [skill]Parasitic bond[/skill] [skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
Curses 16
Water Magic 9
Soul Reaping Balance
Glyph of lesser energy could be replaced easily with anything, not really needed since you get energy from death. This is an easy build to do.
1. Get agro bubble pretty close to mob of foes.
2. Flag Hench right at your location
3. You can now attack with Deep freeze
4. When you are half way through casting the spell release the flagged Henchmen
5. Follow up with FoC
6. Then Desecrate
7. Follow up with hexes (Many foes should be starting to drop)
8. Repeat as necessary

I've tried running both without and with AE to SV and the "with" result is much more damage. Foes dropping and SoLS provides enough energy; SV is lower cost than SS anyway. With AE you can echo other skills as well when you need extra utility or damage - example, Murakai's dungeon when I'll echo Necrosis.
AE is indeed useless for SV in PvP but in PvE it's good.

I think it suffices to ask whether you run around with an MM hero as backup...
If so definitely consider bringing Barbs.. Echo that and let the minions do the job.
the 5 sec recharge (2.5 with 20% Curses) makes it a raging skill to be spammed on several targets.
